B.Ed., (Bachelor of Education) Semester Scheme Regulartions


ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
1. A citizen of India passed B.A/B.SC., degree examination of Banglore University or any university in India or abroad recognised as equivalent through 10+2+3 pattern of education obtaining 50% marks in aggregate of all the subjects is eligible for admission to B.Ed., Course provided;

a) He/She has studied at least any one of the following languages

(i) Kannada (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Urdu (v) Marathi (vi) Sanskrit

b) Any two of the following Electives:
History political science
Sociology Geography
Economics philosophy
psychology physics
chemistry Botany
Zoology Geology
Mathematics English
Micro-Biology Bio Technology
Computer Science Electronics
Statistics  
1.2 Minimum Marks for the purpose of eligibility in the case of SC/ST,Category-1 and physically handicapped Student shall be 45% in the aggregate of 3 years of the their degree course.
DURATION OF THE COURSE AND MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:
  1. The duration of study for B. Ed., semester course shall extend over a period of one academic year of two semesters. The duration of first semester shall be of 16 weeks and second semester shall be 18 weeks (204 working days)
  2. Minimum duration for practice teaching shall be of six weeks which excludes programmes like micro teaching, Simulated teaching and practice of communication skills.
  3. The college shall provide instruction in both Kannada and English mediums separately in core-subjects provided the total strength of students in such class is more than 40. However, English and / or Kannada shall be generally medium of instruction for content cum method of teaching school subjects.
  4. Student shall opt. English or Kannada medium for teaching practice irrespective of their medium of instruction Opted for theory papers in their colleges.
  5. Student shall opt either English or Kannada medium to write their 1st semester and 2nd semester examination irrespective of their medium selected for theory classes and teaching practice.

  • B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) Semester Scheme Regulations

    Eligibility for Admission:

    Any graduate of Bangalore University or of other University recognized by the Bangalore University as equivalent there to who is physically fit and satisfies any of the following condition Will be eligible for admission to B.P.Ed . Degree Course.

    1. Graduate in physical education i.e., B.P.Ed. of Three years duration with 45% marks.
    2. Graduate with at least 40% marks, having represented state/ University :sports/ Games/Athletics/as per the list of sports of A.I.U.
    3. Graduate with at least 40% marks , who has secured 1st ,2nd or 3rd Position in university inter-collegiate sports/games tournaments or possessing NCC`C` certificate or passed basic course in adventure sports Graduate with at least 45% marks participated in inter collegiate/inter District/ Divisional Level Sports/
      Games tournament.
    4. Graduate with at least 45% marks and one year training programme in sports sciences, sports management, sports coaching, yoga, Olympic education, sports journalism etc. Physical fitness of the candidates is assessed by administering National Physical Fitness program tests of India as indicated in Regulation 6.
    Candidate seeking admission to B.P.Ed. Degree course should be below 26 years of age, 28 years age for
    SC/ST and Cetegory-1, as on 1st July of the year of the year of admission. The age is relaxable upto 30 years for outstanding sports persons. Outstanding sports person means, a candidate who has participated in recognized inter - university/ interstate/ inter national sports or games competitions. However, in case of in service candidates (trained physical Education Teachers and coaches) the age is relaxed upto 35 years , subject to condition that, they are medically fit. All candidates shall produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a medical officer of not less than the rank of District Surgeon along with the application.

    There shall be reservation of seats for SC/ST/Cat-I/ as per the rules of the Karnataka State Government. Regulation 6: Selection procedure Candidates for B.P.Ed., degree course will be selected on the basis of merit and merit shall be determined on the basis of academic performance, Physical fitness and achievement in sports/games.
